While trying to improve my health and maintain (or even lose) my weight, I came across the concept of intermittent fasting - fasting for short period of time to obtain health benefits like reduced weight gain, increased energy and better health. However, for me, I started because intermittent fasting was shown to reduce the side effects of the treatments that I was receiving. However, after the treatments were done, I was so use to fasting regularly that I decided to continue it - using the 16/8 method (16 hour fasting with 8 hours of eating each day). The graphic below shows some of the best known benefits of intermittent fasting.
But how long do you need to fast to receive these benefits? One of the best videos I have since that covers this is shown below.
